Indianapolis Traction Terminal - towards printable 3D drawings

Postponed but not forgotten, the pharaonic project is on track again: this stone structures of the Indianapolis Traction Terminal are all redrawn for 3D printing in H0 scale. The steel structure of the train sheet could be realized in etched brass or laser cut materials.

But as in antiquity, it will take time...

  1. Much hard work, obviously.

  2. Yes it was! But once the basic elements drawn, there is now the pleasure of doing simple copy&paste...

  3. Are you actually going to do a printing of these whole buildings? I have similarly ornate buildings I need to build, but at the moment I'm favoring constructing them with styrene but with 3D printed windows and doors and other fancy details. But I would be most interested to see what you decide to do. Excellent work as usual sir! Carry on!

  4. Thanks! Yes, the goal is to have a printable 3D model of the whole building, including windows and doors. For easier handling, I will probably split into a lower (prototypical sandstone) part and an upper (brickstone) part. Modeling the main entrance porticus will be a design challenge.
