Another delight are the drawings : I found Union Traction 400 class, UTC 427 class, the Indiana Service Corp. 375 class and their trailer 390. Contains also blueprints of the Highspeeds, the IR 90 class, and of the big wooden Ft Wayne - Wabash 500 cars...

This is 3D work for years and years, folks! And not enough, CERA Bulletins 101 and 122 will come to me soon.

TROLLEY TALK was edited by Birdella Wagner, wife of Richard Wagner and his Wagner Car Co., a manufacturer of high-quality streetcar models and parts. 


The magazine is an incredible gold mine of rare photos and diagrams and it testifies the high level of traction model making on from the 50s.

Contains many car drawings and an Indiana Railroad Map.

The book was stamped by his prior owner Richard Clark Evans with his name in ink and the purchase date of 1981.

Like all Marlette books, it is well written, containing precious details and has amazing photos, even if the quality of them is not so high due to low production standards of the book. 

On page 137, an incredible photo shows the wiring of an Interurban line with a work motor pushing the wire car and stringing the wire "hot" under power , with the reel under power at all times.

About 100 photos, including some rare, but very few car diagrams.

Nice written and well reserached story of the life and the death of this Ohio car builder.  Extensive appendix trying to list all delivered cars, very useful for traction researchers and modelers.

New arrivals in my library

On my first trip to the US - but not beyond New York City - I found the very fine Jerry Marlette book "Indianapolis Railways".

This book contains some information about the Traction Terminal that I missed, specially about the trackplan and the freighthouses, including the mysterious 4th freighthouse between Market and Wabash Street.
